Program Details

Once your first payment is processed, you will immediately receive an email asking you to update your password for the HowToTunePianos.com website. Once that is done you will have immediate access to all the course videos.

As soon as your payment has been processed, I will contact you to find a day and time that works for both of us to have your live, one-on-one, aural piano tuning lessons (Mentor and Accelerated Programs) or your group class (Master Class Program).

APTU Certification Details:
1) 22 units to be submitted by video and/or audio recording.
2) 52 or 26 one hour live one-on-one lessons, to be taken within one year. I will mark your submission in front of you so you can see and hear exactly where you need to improve if you do, and where I will give you the information you need to pass the next unit.
3) Upon completion of the 22 units, you will tune a fine concert grand for a concert technician who will listen to your tuning and grade you 1 to 4: 1 - not ready, 2 - ready for non-critical tunings, 3 - ready for concert tunings with concerns listed, 4 - ready for concert tunings with no concerns.
4) Upon completion of all units and receiving a score of 2 or more from your final independent evaluation, you will receive the certification of APTU, Aural Piano Tuner, with the International Piano Technicians School, IPTS.
