Unisons and Stability are the two most important skills you absolutely have to have if you want to have any success at all tuning pianos.

Clean unisons can hide many defects in your tuning.

Sour unisons will ruin everything good about your tuning.

And without the ability to have each unison string stay where you put it, the strings will slip on the first hard note, causing any clean unison to sound sour, ruining an otherwise good tuning.

This happens all the time. But with the proper instruction, it doesn't have to. You just need to get good training that makes these skills so much easier to get.
