IPTS Missed Class Policies
The following are the policies for any classes missed by students or instructors of the IPTS
Mentor and Accelerated Programs
Students of the Mentor or Accelerated Programs are required to complete the theory and stability courses and quizzes before the online classes start. The full year or six month term starts on the day of the first online class.
At that point, each student will be assigned a weekly class.
They are expected to be at that class every week.
Here are the policies we will follow if an instructor or student misses a class:
Instructor misses a class:
The instructor must give the student at least 24 hours notice if they will miss a class.
The students can still send in recorded units to be marked.
The instructor must create a feedback video and send it back to the student before the next week's class.
If the instructor does not adhere to these policies, the student is entitled to a pro-rated discount and the instruct will receive a negative mark on their record.
Student misses a class
If a student of the Mentor or Accelerated Programs misses a class, the following are in force:
The instructor, at their own discretion, may agree to create a feedback video for any unit recordings the student sends in.
The instructor may choose instead to add a week to the end of the student's term.
We do not reschedule classes that the student misses.
In rare circumstances, IPTS may extend the end of term up to two months for the Mentor program and one month for the Accelerated program.
Members Who Pay Monthly and Attend Weekly Classes
If an instructor misses a class, they will send a feedback video for any unit recordings the student sends in. If the student does not have any unit recordings, they can send in some questions to be answered. The instructor will send back the feedback video before the next class. The instructor has been warned they are not to miss more than one class per two month period.
If a student misses a class, it is not made up.
