Go A.P.E. Pitch Raises/Pitch Drops

The Bisecting Beat Speed Windows (BBSW) temperament and treble/bass sequences are ideal for doing pitch raises because of their inherent self-correcting feature.

When performing a pitch raise or pitch drop, the only difference is that there are more corrections, and the starting A4 is tuned higher or lower than 440 in anticipation of the eventual rise/drop of the average pitch. (This is called overpull in the case of a pitch raise, and underpull in the case of a pitch drop.)

The following lessons describe more about pitch rises, pitch drops, and how it works with BBSW and the specific of how a BBSW pitch raise/drop is done.
