Modified Reblitz Regulation Steps: Upright
Modified Reblitz Regulation Steps: Grand
Piano Servicing, Tuning, and Rebuilding: For the Professional, the Student, and the Hobbyist by Arthur Reblitz is a standard text for all piano technicians. If you are a technician, want to be a technician, or just want to mess around with your own piano (yes, that is ok, if you don’t mind breaking it – and then being able to fix it, of course ?) then you need to get this book. Just click the link.
The author has a detailed list of steps for regulated the grand and the upright piano. However, for someone not experienced, this list can appear confusing. For that reason I created the Modified Reblitz Regulation Steps.
These documents list all the steps in the Reblitz book, but add comments top each step.
The comments fall into three groups:
- Steps that are probably not needed because once they are set, they should not change, unless someone messed with the piano!
- Steps that should not be done until some samples are set and the specifications are confirmed!
- Steps that should not be doner because they will cause the piano not to work right unless you are rebuilding the whole action!
